What happened when I joined the 5am club

My life started to change when I decided to make time just for me.
I was never a morning person. In fact, I hated getting out of bed earlier than I needed to. And when I did eventually surface, I’d be on the back foot—running late, rushing around, stressed—fighting to get myself and the rest of the house out the door on time. Mornings were stressful in my house; it’s no wonder I wanted to stay in bed.
BUT… when I made the choice to start getting up early, my life turned a corner—and I’ve never looked back.
When I wake up at 5am, the house is silent… ahhhh, guilt-free time just for me. And I love it. I get the chance to reconnect with my highest self and do the things I otherwise would never get time to do. I meditate. I write. And I witness the most amazing colours as the sun rises.
Doing things just for me nourishes my soul—and I’ve grown as a result.
If you want to grow and get to know who you really are, you need to spend time with yourself—free from the noise and distractions that modern life bombards our senses with.
Now, I can’t wait to get up. I don’t use an alarm—I just wake up naturally and get out of bed. No more lying there with the duvet over my head, winding myself up thinking about all the things I have to do… all that can wait.
All things grow when given time. Is it time to nurture your soul’s growth and join the 5am club?
